Specifciations of Aluminum Bar/ Rod
Glory stocks aluminum bar for both aerospace and commercial applications. Since aluminum weighs approximately a third the weight of similar steel section, it is the obvious choice when weight is a factor.
Excellent resistance to corrosion permits its use without protection in most environments. Aluminum’s ability to transmit heat rapidly and efficiently make it an ideal material for the heat transfer processes. Aluminum bar can formed readily and has excellent weld ability.
Glory stocks bars in 2024, 6061, 6063, 6101 and 7075 alloys in a variety of tempers.

2011 One of the most popular screw machine stock alloys available. Glory Aluminum’s Microchip II (T3 temper only) offers excellent machinability and surface finish. The chips from Glory Aluminum’s Microchip II (T3 temper only) are well known for being small in size. Typically used in connectors and fittings, brake pistons, computer parts, knobs and meter shafts.
2017 Good machinability and good mechanical properties. Used in rivets, general structural applications and transportation.
2024 Good machinability and good mechanical properties. Typically used in aircraft structures, rivets, connectors, hydraulic valve bodies and miscellaneous structural applications.
6061 Magnesium/Silicon alloy is one of the most versatile of the heat treatable alloy group. Typically used in structural and transportation applications. Products include extruded and drawn tube, pipe, rod, bar and profiles. Good corrosion resistance and good weldability.
7075 High mechanical properties and in the T73 or T76 temper, offers improved stress corrosion cracking resistance. Good machinability and typically used in aircraft structural parts.
