6063 aluminum sheet is an aluminium alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements. It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable. Hot forging may be done in the range of 500 F to 950 F. The alloy is readily welded by all of the conventional methods. 6063 aluminum sheet is mostly used in extruded shapes for architecture, particularly window frames, door frames, roofs, and sign frames. It is typically produced with very smooth surfaces fit for anodizing.
